I have just checked my progress on my TMA02,and was pleased to see that I did well. The biggest achievement for me is that I was very nervous about remembering all the information needed to do this course,as I was never very good at it at school. Now, twenty years later I am finding that at my own speed, I can take the information in and remember it.
My biggest fear I had towards doing this course is now not really a problem anymore.
Thank you SKILLSTRAIN for giving me this opportunity.

I have not been doing my course for long, I'm doing comptia A+,N+ and cisco and have put 3 TMAs in so far, I was really worried that I was not going to do very well, as I am Dyslexia which can get in the way some times, which it did a little when I was in the Army, some years ago.
I do have to work very hard, but as I won't to go back to work, after a long time off work helping my wife and looking after my 5 children who are all nearly in full time school.
I decided I needed to start thinking about trying to get back into work, which my wife agrees, any way I was so pleased when I put my 1st TMA in, I had 90% then 85% for my 2nd TMA and 100% for my my 3rd TMA.
I hope I can keep thees assignment marks up. Mind you with the support from my wife and the tudor's from the skills train I'm sure I can.
thanks skills train

Working full time and studying is a big challenge in itself, but is a challenge I was prepared to take. I have a very good study schedule which of-course has been a key to my achievements in terms of submitting my assignments in time. My big challenge however was when I got sick and spent 4 weeks in hospital, this is the time I thought my dreams of becoming a Network engineer was over, because the Doctors didn't know what was wrong with me,and each day passed my health was becoming worse, I was so stressed and didn't know what to do. I did remember one thing though, that each time I studied something new from my course, it brought me inner sastisfaction, and it gave me that drive I wanted. So I requested that they should send me my study material in the Hospital, I got them and the study begun, it was such a source of relief for me, it gave me hope that I will be fine and fulfill my dreams, in time fortunately they managed to diagnose the problem, but the decision to carry my studies in the hospital paid off, for I was never behind as I thought I would be. This has been a great motivation for me, and I can't wait to finish my course.

With myself being of the older generation, it was with concerns that I started on the CompTIA A+ course. ( That's Network Engineer to us mere mortals ).
But I must say that it isn't as hard as I thought it would be. With careful study, I am attaining marks that would have my old school chums drooling at the mouth,my lowest mark is 80%, and my highest is 100%, my family, and friends are amazed ( so am I ) at the results I am getting. My coursework is done round my job, and my family commitments, but I am getting there.
Currently I am on TMA 7 which to me is the hardest so far. There will be others that are harder, but I am convinved that I will do it and attain the full exam and succeed. So don't be disheartened if you don't seem to be doing that well, your marks will come. Just put at least one hour a day to one side for study. My boss is eating his words now. Will not manage it? PHUEEEEE!! I have amazed myself.

I have read some of the other success stories - I felt quite moved by what some people have over came and dealt with. I myself came down with M.E in April 2006, it wasn't until January this year that I managed to sustain studying again.I work in a telecomm's network management office, I find myself talking about technical subjects that I would have never had known enough about to contribute to. I find the 2006 objectives Compti A+ much better it is laid out,and in a clearer format. I have never felt rushed or under pressure thanks to the terms of the course. I only ever seem to email my tutor team but no matter when I do, I always get a swift response.I have just got 97% on my last TMA after re-submitting it, it felt really good as I was worried I had made the same mistakes!
Lastly I would just like to wish everyone luck, but its not luck what lets you succeed.....its you!

I must confess that my course with skills train that is A+, N+, CCNA & CCNP has given me alot of confidence to face the future as an IT professional.
IT has always being my dream, little did I know that, that dream will come true some day.I never had the resources for the course but thanks to career development.I now pay in bits for the realisation of a dream career.

I recently finished a degree at university and wasn't sure where I wanted to go, a common problem for students. I ended unemployed for a while and really started to feel down. I decided to take up a certification course in IT after seeing SkillsTrain advertised. I decided to take the A+ and N+ and go on to take the CCNA.
After completing the A+ I received a chance to work on an IT help desk. This really has helped me chose a career path and given me something to aim for. I have almost completed the N+ now and since starting my IT career I have been given the opportunity to progress to second line support.

Thank you for all your continued help.

Was it a small achievement generally, I am proud to say that my accomplishment so far is not a small one. I have completed my A+ and N+ programmes. I am currently waiting for my password and username to reach me so that I could start off my CCNA. While studying with skill train college, I managed to get a certificate in mathematics with the Open University at the same time. I am proud to say that I will be rounding off my degree in ICT with the Open university by October this year. My programme with skill train really helped and is still helping me a great deal with my Open University programme. The skill train programme gave me a lifeline and a much desired hope. I am proud to say that I got a skilled work due to the experience I have gained so far from my skill train courses. My company have decided to enrol me on a work-based ICT course(NVQ level 2) because I passed the preliminary qualification test for the course. Maybe, all these achievements wouldn't have been possible if I didn't start my programme with skill train college. I am thinking of enrolling for further studies with skill train once I complete my CCNP programme. The flexibility of study and feedbacks from tutors has helped me a lot and I don't think I want to stop studying with the college yet.

Recently I was diagnosed with Crohns disease I have had to adopt a new life style in every aspect of my life be it social, work and home. Dealing with the condition and being in and out of hospital often, made me put this course on the back burner but has made me believe that you have to deal with what life throws at you but also take the opportunities that are presented to you and make the most of them. I don't revel in sympathy, and as far as I'm concerned there are folks a lot worse off than me. You get out of life what you put in, so this course has given me a very real opportunity to prove that statement!!

I have very recently passed my Comptia A Plus 2003 exams (220-301 & 220-302) and am still continuing with my course to aspire to next achieving Network Plus qualifications. This has come to fruition after a fairly tough few years for me, with having to endure several surgical operations on my arms, legs and hips following diagnosis of a rare bone cancer condition.
I have also taken on the role, together with my wife, of foster parents to a difficult young child whose previous placement had broken down.
All this has been achieved with determination whilst holding down a full time administration job and helping my two other children to gain sucess in their GCSE's, and more recently, their BTec National Diploma college courses.
I am confident that if I can glean some success on this long and winding road to a successful career path then with a bit of determination you can too.

This course has changed my perception towards life. I was into business earlier and very unfortunately had met with serious losses and had to quit the business. I had tried all possible options to find work but was unable to get any work with future or career prospective. I then started looking for an option that could give me a career which has growth prospects and I was willing to learn from scratch. In my quest for such an option, I came across the skills train training programme and made an enquiry. After a detailed discussion with the career advisor, I felt that this is the right option and this is the only way I could get my life back on track. But I was a bit indifferent and skeptical as to whether I will be able to undergo a studying phase at this stage of my life. But I was determined to do this and made an effort to study even though I had a bit of delay with the initial start up. I have been an end user of computer for a very long time but didn't know anything about how it works. On commencing the course, there were initial difficulties with concentration on the course work but eventually, with my determination and hard work, I improved and things got much easier. Now I find the course very interesting which is well reflected by the submission of my TMA's and the pace I'm to doing them. I think this achievement of mine have paved way in gaining my self confidence back, which has made things easy for me and plays a major role in motivating me to complete the course as soon as possible and to succeed in life. My level of concentration has also improved and I have proved that in active submission of my TMA's.
