I am doing the A+ and N+ course with Skillstrain, in the beginning when I started the course I did not have any kind of qualification to do with IT, I just knew the basics which I was taught in school.I always wanted to join the IT industry so I started searching and I always saw adverts on TV, internet and newspapers etc. after going through all the colleges and offers I decided to go with Skillstrain. I rang up Skillstrain and booked an interview, I still wasn't sure how it worked but I had my mind set on doing MCSE. when my interview had come I introduced myself and the way I live and the fact that I am the oldest in my house and that our father doesn't live with us and most responsibilities are on my shoulder. I spoke to the lady who was conducting my interview and said to her that I wanted to do MCSE so she asked me many questions regarding the terms that and qualified Mcse would use, some of them I didn't understand so I gave it a thought. In the mean while I did the aptitude test and I did very well. So the lady advised me to do A+ and N+ and I just got started within the next week.
The course is amazing step by step training I find it very helpful. I persuade my friends to join Skillstrain
Thanks to all Skills Train staffs to provide such a great materials to our people who can gain a good knowledge of IT within a very short period of time.

I was a serving soldier for 24.5 years up until Mar 2004 when I was medically discharged with (PTSD) Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Major Depression Re occurring, a common psychiatric injury of war.
The symptoms I had were insomnia, aggressiveness, depression, dissociation, emotional detachment, nightmares and potential memory loss, with all that suicidal attempts.
February this year I decided to do something with my life I discovered skills-train and arranged a meeting with one of their representative. I was convinced that this company can give a boost to my knowledge of the PC and will help me to get into a well paid job.
I have joined the course of PC Hardware and Maintenance (A+) and (N+) and since I started my course, Mar 2007, it has given me a lot of self confidence.
I have managed to help out a few friends with various problems on their computers, so that has spurred me on even further.
All in all I am really pleased with myself and it just proves that if you want to learn something anything is possible.
I intend completing both A+ and N+ and looking forward to taking the A+ professional exam Later on in this year. Keep it up Skills-Train you have gave me my life back.

After many years of friends asking me how to do certain things on the computer, I decided to do something for myself and to enrol in a computer course where I will be even more helpful to lots more people, and most of all to have an aim in life and a goal to achieve

My wife has been out of work now for several months, and I have been working up to 3 jobs per day to try and support us both, during all of this I have also had to study for my a+ course. My hours of work usually run from about 5 in the morning till about 11 at night,by which time I get home and study for about 30 min,not blowing my own bubble but I recently compleated part b of my 2006 objectives and have come through all of the assignments with above average results.
Let this be a lesson to all those who say "oh but I can never do anything like that", I am living proof that if you put your mind to something and want to do it then you CAN no matter what the circumstances are.
Hope I have shed a little light to those who are thinking of giving up when the going gets tough.

Having just completed the A+ course, and submitting the final TMA, I am now looking forward to getting my final results, with a view to sitting the main examination later this month. It was only through finding and reading about Skillstrain, that I decided it was time for a change of direction / career. through the training and support I have been given , I am scheduled to attend a businees startup seminar in July.
If all goes well, which I hope it will, I have the Skillstrain team to thank. I can now look forward to starting my next course with Skillstrain, the N+, where I hope to do just as well. many things in my life have changed, some for the better, some for the worse. One of the many things that have changed is the fact that I was made grandad just over a month ago, and will be presented with another grandchild later next month, followed by 2 more in the following few months, so as you can see, not only have I been busy with my studying, but my children all have been busy as well ( no wonder the grey hairs are showing)
Heres to Skillstrain for providing great course material and support throughout. I wish you all many more successes for the future, keep up the great work

Since I joined Skills train, I have achieved a lot. The best example which I could give is my own house. I wasn't that good on networking a few months before. But since I joined here, I was so much motivated to do something.
I have developed so many skills in terms of networking that I can manage my own network at home. I maintain a server at home, i.e. I have my own server which I maintain a domain. We have totally 9 computers at home (We are all students and everyone has a computer, and every computer is connected to the domain) and we share all the resources within the network. I have also configured the server as run a VPN service, which is amazing so that I can connect to my home LAN anywhere from the world, it not only for me for all my friends who connect to my server try access files and music from the server.

I wouldn't have guess that I would have done all these stuff without joining skills train. To be honest I never knew how to crimp a patch cable before. But I can do every aspect of network by myself (but within the bounder of my knowledge).
I am looking forward to expand my bounder as long as I am in skills train.

During my time of Employment at PC Service Call, which is now renounced as 'The Tech Guys', I managed to gain excellent experience, confidence within myself and achievements on my own grounds which have proven to be of great help in motivating me to expand my knowledge in my skills and intrests i.e in resolving problems with desktop computers, laptops, hardware, software etc.
My job title was 'CPA' which stands for Customer Product Advisor. The products that I had to give advice and solutions over the phone for was desktop computers, laptops etc that were brought from either PC World, Dixons Group or Currys/Currys digital. I once undertook a call that lasted me for over an hour and a half. It was a customer that had a fair amount of knowledge about what a PC is and how to operate it(thank God for that). It was a case where one problem after another arose which can get REALLY annoying. I know for 100% if it was someone else that had taken that call, he/she would have given up after a very short while and have had the customer an engineer booked to come out and see to the problem, but I really took to it to make sure this call ends with a customer satisfactory telephone fix. I really enjoy giving advice, and helping others to resolve computer/laptop problems, and that is what motivated me to stick with the frustrated customer, also it is what's motivating me in doing this course today and to make use of/enhance my skills and knowledge. I, in my opinion, regard that as an achievement, because it actually made me realise what I am capable of and how far I can go with the potential I have, and how patient I can be because of the passion I have for what I know and would like to further. I look forward to give 100% in completing this course fully and grasp every bit of information I possibly can from the courses I am undertaking.

I have been doing the PA course for less than two months now and I wish that I had thought of this years ago. The course is hard, I work nights and also have a two year old daughter who can't understand why daddy needs to sleep during the day. Despite being a low income family we found the money to pay for it all, so that in the (hopefully not so distant) future, I will be able to repay their faith in me. At present just done TMA 03 and still averaging about 95% on my scores. He hoping what the future May bring.

As a student of skillstrain you don't really know what you made up of until you are confronted with challenges.
My first challenge was choosing a computer for my uncle and being responsible for maintaining and ensuring that the computer is in good condition, I almost refuse knowing as I am still a student not yet a certified pc specialist. The pc came with a security software installed in it, he wanted to replace the security software with another which I advice him not to do. Few days later he told me about an error message that keep popping up, it has not made him enjoyed using the pc. After a brief questioning he finally told me he removed the anti virus software that came with the pc which I warned him not to remove. The bad thing about this error message is that even when you click ok it appears within the next few seconds, but with the knowledge I gained from my course materials I was able to solve the problem even when the manufactures support department could not do any thing about it. So far I have been able to solve two more problems due to human fault on the pc. Ever since then I suddenly developed this confidence of carrying out maintenance on his pc and my brother's laptop. As PC specialist confidence is a must have , if you don't have it then its not there but with skillstrain you are assured .

I have started my course this month which is a huge achievement for me having been stagnant and unsure of my future direction for some time. I have completed the first two TMAs and got 100% and 97% respectively and have just submitted my third TMA. This is a massive achievement for me as I am so busy working and have also played several gigs with my band in the evenings and been rehearsing twice a week for an opera performance. I'm not actually sure how I've managed to fit studying in to all this but my personal determination has found a way and I have been rewarded with good results which have motivated me even further to suceed with my course.
