I am a 48yrs old plumber and new nothing about Pc's well I could find my way around, so I decided to have a go at the course. So far I have acheived more than I expected lets hope it carries on. Thanks to all the team & best of luck to anyone who is taking the course I knew nothing about IT, but through hard work, I have scored 100% and 93% in my TMA01 AND TMA02 respectively. With this course I am able to repair my computer and also I helped my friends to upgrade there RAM and hard drive. As I placed my first assignment via e mail to the tutors of my course I feel that I whizzed through this assignment without any help from my tutor. I believe I can pick up this course very fast, and I'm ready to undertake the 2nd assignment once I've received my result for my first assignment. I got 100% on my revision supplement, which is a big achievement because I do struggle to remember things. and I have had a lot of personal things going on at the moment, I haven't had as much time to study as I would like. Hello everybody,I feel like a kid in a candy store.I just can't get enough of studying the course work skillstrain is giving.Like you can see I enjoy every moment of submitting my work, I love the results, keep the work coming and I will study it. I have not long started this course but since I have been ploughing my way through the tutor marked assignment and it has been paying off with the hard work because I have past them all with very good marks. I will continue doing so all through this course. I think it was a very big step for me to start this course.many things I've gone through my mind, like I'm in college an as the same time trying to involve my self in I.T programmes. I love I.T but don't really know where to start from. All this broke me in several part, until I was advised by one of your staff. I took a big step, reprogrammed it myself. I go to college, work as the same time do my I.T assinment at home. Although it not easy but motivation still keeps me going. Thanks to skilltrain for letting my vision and dream comes clearer. I have entering student of the month competition because despite of my tight schedules, I have maintained consistent performance in my studies. I am in the most difficult period in my Ph.D programme in Chemical Engineering as I have to submit about 100 pages report and I have a 17 month old daughter that will do anything to make sure I don't read or sit with my PC at home, but despite this very arduous pressure, I have not score less than 90% in my Marked assignment. I have also not defaulted in submitting my work. I HAVE PASSED MY 1ST 3 TMA,S WITH MARKS WAY ABOVE WHAT I HAD EXPECTED .I HAVE ALSO BEEN TUTORING MY PARTNERS DAD IN USING A COMPUTER AND WHAT CERTAIN PROGRAMS CAN DO I.E. WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER, PAINT WORKS FOR DESIGN.I HAVE ALSO REFORMATTED A COMPUTER WITH WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION ,INSTALLED AN ETHERNET CARD AND CONNECTED THE COMPUTER TO THE HOME NETWORK FOR INTERNET USE AND INSTALLING THE NECESSARY SECURITY TO PROTECT THE COMPUTER FROM VIRUS,S AND SPYWARE, ADWARE I started the pc hardware & maintenance course about 3 months ago. this was as the first part of me trying to gain Cisco accreditation. I knew nothing about computers and struggle to study around an ever changing shift pattern at work. I have followed your suggestions closely and set up a timetable for study and set aside a quiet area in which to study. I get good feedback from my course tutor and have even been made to re-submit a TMA that hadn't reached the required standard. I felt like I had failed at first but then it spurred me on to study harder and pass the second time. I have learned so much from this course and have already recommended 2 friends to the course. My biggest achievement so far (apart from learning all that I have) has been to re-configure my fathers computer, install new software and now today I have just installed extra memory for him!!!! This would have been a pipedream 3 months ago. I am now on the last TMA for this section and cant wait to start part 2. Thanks for this opportunity to let you know the conditions in which am currently studying. I live with my partner and our 'almost-3' year old son who has a condition that requires 'round-the-clock' care, and besides neither I nor my partner have work permit to work legally in this country (we are originally from Africa) but owing to our circumstance (our son's condition) we're awaiting a Home Office decision to remain here. Now, I never imagined this course would ever get off the ground taking into account my 'close-to-zero' finances, but for my passion for IT I used to imagine, even if I were to squeeze my little finances which I get from support of the NATIONAL ASYLUM SUPPORT SERVICE to an unbearable state (my Lord GOD is seeing me through this difficult times)I thought I'd never have time to study as we are always in and out of Hospitals. I have just started doing A+ with skills train this month with no prior knowledge of computers and did 4 assignments so far, got more than 90% in three and 100% in one, feels really good.
