In July 2007 I was revising in preparation for my Network+ exam, when my partner started having complications with her pregnancy. We had to travel to London every week to see the specialists. It was not possible to carry on the course whilst all this was going on. At the end of September, our identical twin boys were born by emergency C-section 12 weeks early. We had to commute from Worthing to Portsmouth (1 hour drive each way) every day to see them. We took Alex home early December, but little Philip died a week later. The whole story is on my blog www.rkingshott.co.uk .

Once we were home, I had to start revising from scratch for the exam as well as restarting full time work. I am glad to say that I passed the Network+ exam earlier this month and am now getting back on track with my MCSA and hope to complete this by the end of this year.

Hello,
why do I think that I achieved a lot during the last month? Well, I was able to finish my first part of the course A+ and I am looking forward to take an exam in the next weeks in London. I have already started to studying N+ part of the course and I do really like it. I am increasingly aware that my decision to study with Skillstrain was a good decision. When I started to study I worked in night - shift pattern and it was very difficult to find the time for studying but since I have changed it and I do the day shifts it is much better. I prepared myself a special kind of schedule where I wake up in the small ours in the morning and I do learn. It really helps because I have a lot of time to think about different subjects from the Objectives Book during the day so it is very efficient. Last month I helped to my friends successfully( using remote desktop utility )repair their computers and set up wireless networks and protect them with WAP where needed. I was even able to help to set up several computers at work and to sort out a software problem at the hydraulic company where I am employed at the moment. I hope that I will be able to find a computer related job as soon as possible and develop my skills. All studying materials are very beneficial to me and I like to implement them in day to day life. I am originally from continental Europe so I have sometimes difficulties with the language - but since I have started studying I have improved at the language very much. I keep my self testing A+ examination software and I am doing very well. I hope I will pass the exam. So fingers crossed. Thank you Skillstrain.

I have completed the A+ Course, and passed!

After passing the A+ Course, I realised, that I really need to pick up my game and get the N+ done so I could start on my CCNA+CCNP.
So I have been staying behind at work for 2 extra hours, just going though my N+. I have already completed 4 TMAs starting (Possibly 5 by the end of the month.) The results I have been getting from these TMAs have been nothing less that 100%.
I have also been through an Ofsted inspection at my college, which we were inspected on ILT. So even through immense pressure, I have been able to perform excellently. Starting this course, I believe I have turned over a new leaf. I have been more organised : I have created a file with all my notes, tma receipts and, tma results in, for each module.
I have been more self motivated : by staying behind at work every night for two hours.
I am understanding the N+ well and I am enjoying it, which is very important to learning.

I have been able to go through my course work at a much faster rate, despite having loads of work to do and a sick pregnant girlfriend to look after. I've also been able to maintain a high standard in my TMA scores. I feel I am already well prepared for my first set of public exams.

I have increased my Tutor Marked Assignment results by a significant amount through studying harder. I work ahead of the assignments. Once I submit an assignment, I am working on the next assignment. I have also been taking the practise tests, I have completed 2 already. I keep striving with the course and making time while I am working. I work beyond my expectations. Currently working with Windows Server 2003.

I am a young married polish person looking for a long term future in England and the I.T.Industry. I would like to be considered for student of the month, because it would greatly encourage me to study more and complete the course work faster. I find it very difficult to do my I.T.Work, because I work 50hrs a week and I find it hard to write and understand English. I do 8-10hrs, sometimes more on course work, but I am sure with encouragement and commitment and studying every spare moment on your Skillstrain I.T.Course. It will give me and my family a good future.
