My main achievement is my ability to stage a come back to education through the skillstrain after so long time off school. The decision to go for IT training is not easy but I've been able to overcome the fear of getting back which to me a great achievement I didn't really know anything about computers before I started the course, as I only got my first computer last year. But since starting the course I have improved my knowledge considerably. I dismantled an old computer to get try and link some of the theory in the book with more practical work. I have helped various friends with problems on their computers, such as virus infections that required new protection installed. I was determined to change my career. I came to know about skillstrain through leaflet in the post. I have joined A+/N+/CCNA course. I manage to submit majority of the A+/N+ assignments in the first attempt. I passed my A+ exam in first attempt with good marks. Since last month I am running a part time small business from home, as an IT technician. I am receiving 2-3 computers per week for repair or upgrade, baring in mind that it is relatively new business, and I haven't promoted it as much yet. I am hoping to expand it in near future through advertising and make it as full time business. Since ever I started training with skillstrain,I have radiated confidence and attended two interwiew and was successful to the extent that the interviewer said he is going to start recommending skillstrain when I answered the question ;what do you understand by the following HUB,ROUTER & SWITCHES. I've recently been diagnosed with Cancer (Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia) after a regular Eye Test which came as a big shock and very divastating. Im only 29 years old and I thought I had this massive life ahead of me but now its going to be a touch and go. I was meant to go for the second interveiw with a local I.T company but all that has gone out of the window. I've been going through a series of tests and awaiting to undergo chemotherapy which I hope I will respond well to. HI, 6 YEARS AGO I WS HOMELESS ON THE STREETS WITH NO HOPE FOR A FUUTURE AND CERTAINLY NEVER DREAMED OF ONE IN IT. AFTER MANAGING TO SORT MYSELF OUT A BIT AND SETTLING DOWN TRYING OUT MANY DIFFERENT COURSES. IT CAME TO LIGHT A FEW YEARS AGO THAT I SEEM TO HAVE A NATUAL ABILTIY FOR PC HARDWARE AND A FAIRLY GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF THE WORKING OF PC HARDWARE. I SAW THIS COURSE ADVERTISED ON TELEVISION AND PHONED THEM UP AND THAT'S WHERE IT ALL STARTED. Just I wanted to let you know that I used the Skills Train Network+ study guides to prepare for the Network+ 2007 Edition exam. I passed on the first try without problem. I am highly recommending to all of my friends to join with skills Train because this computer training college provides Realistic, Fantastic and skillful course materials for getting success. Well, after a busy first half of the year I was struggling to keep up with my study timetable and also lead a busy life. I work for a medium sized telecomms/I.T company and have been trying to move more into the I.T side of things, as I believe there is more prospects and opportunity, but this has proved difficult as I do not have the necessary experience they require, that was one of the main reasons I embarked on this study programme and course. After months of trying to juggle the studying, homelife, kids and work (nights) I can finally see that it will all be worth it in the end. Just sent in TMA 10 and waiting for the results, still averaging 95% and I actually know that the work that I have done is paying off. I recently upgraded the memory and the graphics on my home pc and it now works like a dream. Actually being phoned up to come and try and sort out peoples PCs (for a fee !!) and I have also got a placement with a local IT solutions firm in order to broaden my horizons in the IT world. Still got a long way to go but I am no longer out of my depth and will be be looking forward to my career change, probably after Christmas. I sat and passed my CCNA Certification exam 640-801. I am pleased with myself because I acheived a remarkable score of 974. I scored 100% in Planning & Development, Implementation & Operation, Technology and 88% in Troubleshooting. It was a long way because when I started on the CCNA course I had very little knowledge of computers. Then, I could bearly manage to type a letter on a computer. Back then in January 2005 I started right at the beggining with the Network+ Certification. Moving on to the CCNA Introduction and the CCNA ICND. Friday the 28th of September 2007 will remain a memmorable day for me because that is the day I got my CCNA qualification. I am very pleased with my decision to change my career into IT after having been in Human Resources field for 10 years. After just two months of commencing my COMPTIA A+ with SkillsTrain, I was able to move across to a job as a Junior HelpDesk Analyst. I started my A+ course in the middle of March 2007 basically as a novice. I studied very hard, literally every day, and did quite well with my TMAs. When I completed my last TMA, the thought of doing the actual exam was quite scary for me since I had not formally studied in over 20 years. Secured a promotion to Communications Engineer with my employer. Have been given the task of designing and overseeing the installation of a full network system in a New High School that we are in the proccess of building. The CCNP course, and my results, which I was able to show on-line was the main factor in getting this chance.
