2007 was the hardest time for me, in my whole life. In January my Dad died and month after I was moving home. My thoughts and my feelings of the lost of some one closed to my heart made me sank. There was no chance for me to do any studying as there was time for me deal with so important issues as family and home; and I could not failed on that. Now I am back to what I have so much wanted, it is the studying. Sometimes, Still it happens , that my tears roll on my cheeks but looking into the future and being one day the great help for others puts my spirit up and helps me to carry on with my studying. In the last month I have successfully completed my ECDL, alongside studying towards gaining comptia A+, I have now completed TMA03, this for me is very self rewarding, I can NOW help my Daughter with her computer problems without too many hickups, this is all thanks to the training & help that I have found invaluable and look forward to continuing my studying. I continued with the course content with the added pressure of a new job and two new babies!!! Life is tough!!! I have found much of the information in this course completely mind-blowing so my learning curve has been huge!!! However, last month I was able to identify that my manager's computer had suffered a terminal error (blue screen plus a message saying preparing to dump hard drive data!! not too difficult I know but rather satisfying to know I had got it right!). I am doing this course whilst working full time and trying to organise two children, one of which is trying to get into the GB squad for slalom canoeing and combining study with plenty of training and driving is interesting. I am determined to complete this course as I have worked in the Health Service all my life and feel that this is one of my few options for changing my life and having some choice in what I do and when I do it. Unfortunately I am unwell at the moment and having to take time off work - first time in my life apart from maternity leave so this is a new experience and not a pleasant one. Continuing to study when I can and get nearer to changing my life and that of my family for the better. I learned quite a lot tonight in this Live Internet Training session but I think I will need to attend again to fully take in some of the latter points in the course material. Excellent Live Internet Training session. It helped a great deal in making a few areas, such as subnet masking, click into place. You get something extra listening to someone who knows confidence for a start! Looking forward to the next session. I found the Live Internet Training session very informative and learned a lot that I didn't yet know about the types of networks there are and the protocols that these networks use. thanks. When I've started this course I had two big problems: 1st-I had four years break from studying and 2nd I'm originally from Poland and I was afraid that IT language will be to hard to fully understand. Fortunately all course material are written in simple, easy to understand terms, and even when I have to read each unit few times I'm very happy with my knowledge and my progress which encourage me to study more! At the begining of my course I had no technical knowledge of computers at all. Since starting to study for my CCNA I have been able to upgrade my computer by adding extra RAM. I found out what I needed and ordered it and installed it myself. Before I enrolled with skillstrain,it has been my heart desire to look for another job because of the hours I spent in the night doing security job. As a matter of fact there was a need for me to learn something new to fulfil this dream. I was over-joyed when I received a call from skillstrain, followed by the confirmation from your course advisor that I can do the course. I felt within me that I was on the way towards realising my dream. After the discussion with the advisor, I started with Comptia A+ and since then I have been doing the course and I am impressed by the scores of my TMAs and I believe as a result of this I am encouraged to press on. It thrills me each time I look at my scores because I started this course when I know nothing about computers. I am hoping and believing to secure a job that will enable me to leave my security job, work during the day time at a good pay and have peaceful rest at night, when I finish my Comptia A+and N+ and do the exams. I took on this course with no knowledge about computers at all. Needless to say, I now show my younger brother and friends how to use a computer, I have gained so much confidence in using pc's now. My assignment marks have been so much better than first thought, when looking at the assignments I was lost, but squeezing in as much study as possible in the time available to me, the results were worth all the effort. I've done all this whilst working a fulltime day job and 3 nights a week.. Really enjoying the course.. Goes to show that no matter how much time you have, you can still achieve what you set out to do... Thanks skillstrain..... Live Internet Training is very informative and a great help in my understanding so far of networks. I look forward to getting on with my next LIT session. I have just passed the A+ essentials exam and have booked the next one to complete the course in 2 weeks. I have almost finished the N+ course as well and expect to take that exam in October. I get married in November and can then continue with the CCNA after the honeymoon as I'll be looking for a new job in the computer industry!
