Well about 2 months ago emails were about as far as my pc knowledge went, oh and playing games. Now when I get all the error and warning messages on my pc I actually understand what they are and dont just click ok and carry on.

I've always been able to fix and work on anything, but pc's confused me as I couldnt see what was working or not as the case May be, now I am confident enough to go into the system itself and make changes to programs to attempt to solve the error messages im getting.

It May not seem a lot but to me it's proof that I am taking in all the information I am learning, and yes I DO believe that I will pass all courses I take and I WILL become a happier person with a future and career not just a existance and a job. That is the reason for my taking these courses.

I had a basic knowledge of computers and how they work since I was 18 at college, however since starting this course it has vastly improved my knowledge and experience to enable my to help my friends and family with their pc problems. I have even been able to build my uncle a pc desktop. Also recently I have had just had an operation therefore been able to study harder and improve my results.

I hope to continue and gain more knowledge and experience to hopefully pursue a career - all thanks to all at Skills Train.

Thanks and carry on with the good work.

Although this isn't an achievement in passing an exam as I have a long way to go for that, this is an achievement for me, in studying the course material.

A couple of weeks ago my downstairs sockets trippied out when a fuse in a plug blew. Having reset the switch on the fuse box I checked all the plugs to see which one had fused. As it happens it was the fuse in the power lead to the computer that had blown. I replaced the fuse in the plug and connected it back to the pc and switched it on, nothing happened! My pc didn't start humming as normal! What could it be??

Not having the cash to buy a new pc, I thought what the hell! It's what I'm doing this course for! I checked the manufacturers warranty and just as I thought it was well out of date. So I decided to have a crack at troubleshooting it myself. This I did successfully and found that the PSU had blown. I double checked my findings with one of the tutors (being a novice I thought it best to ask), and successfully replaced the PSU in my pc which is now working perfectly.

There you have it, not rocket science I know, but for a complete novice I think I did pretty well!

I have been working for a Learndirect centre for a while now and am now able to support my students that are undertaking PC technical courses! We have never been able to do them before but once I told my employer they started advertising them and I am now the "professional" in that area!

I started working on the A+ 2003 Objectives. I then heard that these Objectives were going to be extended till end of June. So it was in May when I rang the administration to explain to me about this because I thought it was too late for me to take the exam before the deadline. So one office lady went at length to explain and encourage me to study really hard so that I can take my exam in June. I was left with about six Tutor Marked Assignments (TMAs) to finish this course and I thought to myself if I could manage it. It was unimaginable since I wanted to leave some other time to revise all my work before I attempt to sit any exams. I tried to budget my time for the one month which was left and some other course I was doing. It was a really really a huge task. But I thank that office lady from SkillsTrain who gave me hope.

I woke up very early each morning to study and submitting my TMAs. By the end of May I had finished all my TMAs. Thanks again to the teaching team who gave me the necessary materials for the exam preparations. The materials they gave were really helpful. It made it very easy even in the CompTIA A+ exams. To be honest I am really happy about the kind of support from all you at SkillsTrain.

Now as I am speaking I passed the CompTIA A+ exams and I am looking forward to do the same with the N+ I am currently studying. I now feel more and more energetic and wanting to do more. I now believe that this course is worth doing especially with the kind of assistance I get from the teaching staff. Keep on the good work guys!!!

Wow! just completed TMA 11 on Installing and uninstalling hardware etc and it has been helpful to me and to a lady I helped over the internet with her Ipod. She was having trouble, the computer was not recognising Ipod so I went through the steps with her that I've learnt in unit 11 and presto, Ipod installed + working very happy lady.

I am in the UK and she is in USA, already Skillstrain's easy to follow tutorials and manuals has helped me help someone outside of the country.

Skillstrain is far better than anything I've done before, the course material is easy to follow and to explain to other people of non technical background.
I will not forget how many times she said thank you and I must do the same to you, THANK YOU!! skillstrain.

Just got results back from TMA 11 and submitted 12, you cannot stop once you get going. Well done guys, Students stick with it.

I was a soldier, but was shot. I had to leave the army and life took a downward turn. I went to prison for 2 years. I brought up my son on my own from 2, he's now 11. I suffered a back injury 4 years ago had to stop work, but now I have decided to better my self by doing this course to provide for my son.

It is amazing what the course with Skills Train can do! I have searched for computer based job since I set foot in the UK.

I had my University education and a Diploma in computer hardware and Software Engineering from outside the UK and that could not guarantee me computer based job. The moment I put the course I'm doing with Skills Train on my CV(Curriculum Vitae), I landed a Data entry job with Christian Salvesen. It is a computer based job. My dream is achieved.

I say a Big thank you to Skills Train and All its staff.

First of all I would like to thank the Tutor team and skills train for helping me with my studies. As maybe you can see/notice that for the past months my entrance to the student world and assignment completion have been rare because of the circumstances beyond my control. My grandad passed away in January after being sick for some time. I was very low at the time as I couldn't go home and at the same time my mother was diagnosed with heart problems. This really put pressure on me financially and hard to make ends meet. During this time I couldn't focus on my studies always on the phone to my relatives making sure my mum was doing well in hospital(Zimbabwe) doctors were on strike. It was very hard to keep calm and put my mind to anything I tried to read from course material. Again, with the help of tutors after having problems with Live Lab I managed to start with loggin in to live lab and practice trying to keep myself strong and to try and forget about the problems. It was a big mountain to climb on my own and took a lot from me. My mum is still in hospital but doing a bit better.

I would like to personally thank Myra helping me continue with my live lab and I've managed to finish CCNA TMA 07 without any problems. Thanks for the opportunity to talk/tell someone about my problems. I feel much better now as I'm achieving something and I have now joined CISCO SYSTEMS CCNA PREP CENTRE (CCNA TV -VideoOnDmand) for more assistance.
Keep up the good work. Thank you.

I have just started my course with skillstrain purely because I was with another provider doing the exact course having being told I had tutors etc, the day came when I needed a little help so I picked the phone and gave the company a call........ To find out that I don't have a tutor and the only way I can get help is through fellow students, the course was quiet a lot of money, due to the fact of having a family! all what I had learnt was on a self learn basis with no help what so ever.

THEN I contacted SKILLSTRAIN and now I am doing the course with these guys knowing that help is just a call away, although I have to start from scratch again its not a problem to me because I have the will to get on and succeed no matter how many steps forward and back you take I believe you will get there in the end !! I had spent over a year doing this course so you could imagine how many hours, paper, ink etc I have used but I guess those notes will come in handy.I must say that ICS ( did I say that?? ) are PANTS !! all they wanted was my money but as I said I am not going to let them put me down with their useful comments. A BIG THUMBS UP FOR SKILLSTRAIN who have saved me !!

Its been a real challenge making out enough time to give to my studies, but the interesting part of it is that all my nights of staying up late to study and do my TMA's are very fruitful. My score in the N+ part A course has been outstanding as far as I am concerned, out of the 10, I have scored 100% in 5, 90% in 2 , 80% in 2 and 76% in 1 (which is my last score), like I said, I think that is really excellent, particularly when my circumstances are put into consideration, and to think that I submitted 2 TMA's a week on the average (I think that is a feat!). Additionally, based on the knowledge I have gained so far, my approach to work has remarkably improved. the lesson on troubleshooting become a handy tool for me, and as a result, I got a promotion at work. I really think every part of this course has been worth it.
