Before starting my course with Skillstrain I had always dreamed to become an IT Engineer in the future, so when I start MCSE course with skillstrain at the beginning I found it a bit far to reach my goal, but after completing my A+, N+ I thought I had found the goal I was looking for. I was working in Coopervision as a Production Operator, very recently they had a vacancy for general admin assistant, I thought let's try my luck here. I have started my course with Skills Train just over a year now and although I have had previous computer knowledge from completing the CIW qualification, I must admit through studying the N+ and the MCSA Windows Server 2002/2003, has given me exceptional knowledge about computer hardware/software and computer network which is what I enjoy doing, hence why I decided to embark on this course. Not only that, finding a college to fit my working and private life around wasn't easy until when I discovered Skills Train, and holding down a full time job within a busy environment such as the police my current employer and supporting a family whilst giving 100% to a very intense course with a lot to take in isn't very easy. But nonetheless, through hard work and dedication I can safely say that I am almost finish and with a lot of confidence to pass my exams. I am also proud to say as a result of studying the N + and MCSA Windows Server 2002/2003 I have recently had an interview internally as a Communication Officer, awaiting result, and I am also having another interview next week also internal as a Computer Forensic Investigator. I thought progression such as this worth sharing as I haven't had an interview in a long time let alone two in two weeks. Many thanks to Skills Train and its Tutors. Having been 25yrs since I last study, I found it difficult at the start to take in information and remember it for any length of time.I have now began to understand and remember more of what I am learning (hopefully enough) and have not been temped (yet anyway)to look back on my notes when completing assignments I have personally been surprised at my progress and hope to continue to surpass my expectations. I am still battling with M.E and had a very patchy May/June. I didn't stop studying I just couldn't stay awake long enough to get the assignment re-submitted. I kept studying as it helped take my mind off feeling ill, as you know I got 97% after resubmitting the TMA. I was really proud of myself for persevering and getting the grade I wanted! About 3 months after I started my course my disabled grandson, who is 5 came to live with me, which meant giving up my job with the local council and starting as a taxi driver. Despite all of the upheaval I'm quite proud of the fact that I've managed to keep up my progress on the course. I HAVE BEEN STUDYING THE A+ COURSE FOR A WHILE NOW I HAVE FINISHED THIS AND NOW ON MY N+ WHICH I'M FINDING IT A CHALLENGE BUT ENJOYING IT VERY MUCH I WORK FOR LAND ROVER FOR 14 YEARS AND WANT A CHANGE IN CAREER SO I WORK AND STUDY AT THE SAME TIME ALSO I HAVE DONE AN ENGINE MANGEMENT SYSTEMS COURSE WHICH I DID AT WORK AND PASSED I AM MARRIED AND LOOK AFTER MY PARTNER TOO WHO HAS BEEN OFF WORK FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS BECAUSE OF DEPRESSION BECAUSE WE HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 10 YEARS AND TRYING TO HAVE CHILDREN IT HAS GOT TO HER SO I AM THERE TO HELP HER ALONG, WITH HELP FROM FAMILY AT TIMES BUT I FEEL HOPEFULLY WE WILL START A FAMILY SOON AND WILL BE IN A BETTER PAID JOB TOO SO AS YOU CAN SEE I TRY AND BALANCE WORK STUDY AND FAMILY LIFE ALL IN ONE BUT I KNOW IT WILL BE WORTH IT IN THE LONG RUN THANKS. While being diagnosed with depression 4 weeks ago,I thought my chances of getting on with the course would fade. But with willpower and enthusiam, I have had the willpower to get through the sections 8 - 11 part 1 of the A+ COURSE, with results of 90, 85, 100 and 97%. When I first started this course, I thought that I was looking at a long way to reach the top. Only last week, I applied for a work position with Microsoft and wrote a covering letter to them explaining that I was currently studying for MCSA. They called me in for an interview and talked to me about the position they required. They were pleased with the interview and so called me back for a second time. When I went for my second interview, they mentioned to me that they wanted me to work in a general admin office position, which I was pleased with, and happily requested that I complete my course so they could move my position to a computing administrator for the company. I am extremely pleased with the outcome, and I know without skillstrain, I May never have been able to even get this far. Today I am so glad that I dialled that number that got me here, thanks skillstrain! Very good teaching. Tutor phoned beforehand to make sure my log on was ok. very impressed by that, shows they do actually care. Full marks to the tutors. Very interesting to actually feel that the students are supported 100%. I was very satisfied and had a better understanding. Thank you for your support. I am very confident with the Live Internet Training. I know I am not alone, you are there for me, and thank you. I particularly find this class most enjoyable for me, so far. Excellent presentation and attention to tricky little details. To be honest, I left school many years ago and decided to take these studies, it has not been an easy task but I had to do it and I cultivated the drive will and here I am today I HAVE DONE IT! Believe me anyone CAN DO IT, all you need is FOCUS, DETERMINATION and HARD WORK and these will take you through. I have just written the Comptia A+ Examinations and PASSED. Thanks to You All who make this Programme successful. When I first applied for the course I did not quite understand how much time was involved, in the process of completing this course I also work a full time job and have a little girl and a partner to find time for. I already new a bit about computers but did not realise how much information you can forget over years. The best achievement I have made so far is completing the sections on my own, having had learning difficulties at school I was amazed to be able to sit and study on my own and achieve the grades I have.
